How to save on your health insurer

Clear, transparent and without sales pressure. You stay in control throughout.

Step 01

Calculate premium

Enter your canton, your age and your preferred deductible. Our calculator instantly shows you every available insurer with the latest premiums.

  • Canton & ZIP
  • Age & family
  • Choose deductible & model
Pro tips
  • Have your current policy ready, so you can see exactly how much you save.
  • Always compare every family member together. Family discounts are possible.
  • Adults under 26 often pay clearly less. Enter the date of birth precisely.
Typical pitfalls
  • Entering the wrong ZIP code. Premiums vary regionally (premium region 1 to 3).
  • Looking only at the price without considering the model (standard vs. HMO/Telmed).
Step 02

Compare offers

Compare premiums, models and benefits. Filter by your needs, whether HMO, Telmed or free choice of doctor.

  • Every Swiss insurer
  • HMO · Telmed · GP
  • Transparent BAG tariffs
Pro tips
  • Higher deductible = lower premium. Especially worthwhile for healthy people with few doctor visits.
  • Alternative models (HMO, Telmed) are up to 25% cheaper, same statutory benefits.
  • Pay attention to customer service and reviews, not only the price.
Typical pitfalls
  • Mixing up supplementary insurance with basic insurance. OKP benefits are identical everywhere.
  • Choosing a very high deductible despite regular treatments being scheduled.
Step 03

Switch for free

Pick the best insurer and we take care of the rest. Our switching service handles every formality, free and non-binding.

  • Cancellation of the old insurer
  • Registration with the new one
  • You sign only once
Pro tips
  • Basic-insurance cancellation must arrive at the old insurer no later than November 30.
  • On premium increases you have an extraordinary cancellation right until the end of the following month.
  • Only cancel the old insurer once the new insurer has confirmed you in writing.
Typical pitfalls
  • Cancelling too late. The November 30 deadline is hard (arrival, not postmark!).
  • Cancelling supplementary insurance without checking. Acceptance at the new insurer can be refused.
