Is it worth it?

Is switching health insurer worth it in 2026?

In short: very often. The legally mandated benefits of basic insurance are the same at every health insurer, a treatment is reimbursed the same everywhere. What differs is price, service, handling and refund time.

In 2026, premiums rise on the Swiss average by 4.4%. Switching to the cheapest insurer for you often more than offsets this increase, depending on model and deductible, several hundred to over a thousand francs per year are possible.

For whom?

When switching pays off most

Is your premium too high?

Many pay far too much for the same legal benefits. We find the cheapest insurer for you in your region.

Trouble with the service?

Long waits or slow refunds? Switching costs you nothing, we take on the effort.

New to Switzerland or moved?

Your premium depends on where you live. After a move or arrival, comparing is especially worthwhile.

New to Switzerland

Family?

With the right insurer, deductible and multi-child discounts, families save the most.

Health insurance for families

Concerns? Understandable.

Is switching complicated or risky? No.

Do I lose benefits?

No. The legally mandated benefits of basic insurance are identical everywhere. You only save on premium.

Can a new insurer reject me?

Not in basic insurance. Health insurers must accept insured persons unconditionally, regardless of age and health.

What does your service cost me?

Nothing. The switch service is free and non-binding for you.

Will there be a coverage gap?

No. We coordinate cancellation and registration so you stay seamlessly insured.

What about my supplementary insurance?

It has its own deadlines and conditions, we review it separately and advise you honestly whether a switch makes sense.

Most important deadline

Don't miss the deadline: 30 November

The ordinary cancellation of basic insurance must arrive at your current insurer by 30 November at the latest (the date of receipt counts, not the postmark). The switch then takes effect on 1 January.

With the ordinary CHF 300 deductible and the standard model, under certain conditions an additional switch on 1 July is possible (cancellation by end of March).
